About this artwork

A richly shadowed figurative scene brings together several women in a moment of attentive care, with a dog resting nearby. Warm ochre, cream, rose, and deep blue stand out against a dark, wooded backdrop, lending the Baroque composition a thoughtful, intimate mood.
