About this artwork

A classical oil painting depicting a group of four robed male figures, including several wearing ornate ecclesiastical mitres and clerical garments, seated together in consultation. One elderly figure in vibrant red robes points down at an open book held on his lap, accompanied by a resting lion at his lower left. Multiple winged cherubs and angels hover in the cloudy sky above and beside the gathering, with one carrying a large woven beehive and others holding religious symbols like a staff and a tall cross. The dramatic lighting emphasizes the rich textures of the heavy fabrics, brocades, and expressive facial features.
