About this artwork

An expressive Baroque-style oil painting featuring a central standing figure next to a large wooden cross, surrounded by adoring figures, kneeling worshippers, and cherubs in a dramatic cloudy sky setting. The composition uses deep shadows, warm earthy tones, and dynamic lighting to create a theatrical and spiritual atmosphere. Figures in flowing garments look upward with emotive gestures, while a harp and a discarded crown rest in the lower right and foreground, adding rich narrative detail to the scene.
