About this artwork

A lively café scene unfolds in loose, expressive brushwork: a server holds a glass of amber beer as patrons gather around the bar. Deep blues and blacks contrast with warm golds and browns, while a pale figure in the background adds a glimpse of the room beyond. This composition by Édouard Manet brings the bustle and intimate atmosphere of urban café life to a wall display.
