About this artwork

An exquisite classical still life painting depicting a woven basket overflowing with a rich harvest of assorted fruits. Clustered within and spilling out are pale green and dark purple grapes, plump peaches, figs, vibrant red plums, and delicate berries on leafy branches. Several large, pale yellow quinces rest along the wooden surface below the basket. The moody, dark background enhances the luminous tones of the fruit, creating a dramatic chiaroscuro effect in the traditional European master style.
