About this artwork

An oil painting depicting a dramatic historical indoor scene with a group of people gathered around a laden dining table under dark, warm lighting. A central central figure holds a goblet while surrounded by numerous bearded and robed men interacting animatedly. In the foreground, a white and brown dog rests near the feet of a seated man in blue and orange garments. Deep red drapery hangs in the upper left corner, and arched windows frame the background, casting soft highlights on the assembled company.
