About this artwork

An oil painting depicting a dramatic encounter between a young man dressed in flowing orange and reddish-brown robes and a seated woman draped in vibrant blue and grey fabrics. The woman sits near a plush bed or couch framed by heavy crimson drapes, while the man reaches out with one hand holding her garment and gestures with the other. The lighting creates strong highlights on the rich textiles and the figures, emphasizing the theatrical tension of the scene.
