About this artwork

An oil painting featuring a reclining nude figure lying on a bed covered with a deep red blanket and white pillows. The figure is illuminated by strong directional light against a dark background, highlighting the contours of the body. In the upper right corner, an attendant dressed in a blue garment and a white head covering holds open a piece of fabric, while numerous small golden coins or particles scatter through the air above the reclining figure. The overall composition uses high contrast chiaroscuro lighting to create a dramatic and theatrical atmosphere.
