About this artwork

Alfred Bastien’s Impressionist scene brings a lively procession of decorated elephants and riders into view, set against palms, greenery, and a pale monumental building. Warm ochres, muted greens, and airy blue-gray light give the bustling city scene an atmospheric, travel-inspired presence.
