About this artwork

A line of blue-clad riders and horse-drawn artillery moves along a pale country road beside white farm buildings. Broad green trees and a softly clouded sky frame the scene, while warm light and muted colors give the composition a quiet, contemplative mood. A distinctive historical subject for a study, library, or living space.
