About this artwork

A tender domestic scene unfolds beneath sweeping ochre drapery. A woman cradles a child in the foreground while a seated figure looks on beside a window opening onto a distant landscape. Deep blue, warm red, and muted earth tones give this Baroque composition a contemplative, intimate mood.
