About this artwork

An expressive, classical oil painting depicting a dramatic religious scene filled with divine figures, winged angels, and awestruck mortals. In the upper center, a central figure ascends into a bright, ethereal light, holding a banner aloft. Below, winged celestial beings gesture toward the heavens while astonished onlookers and fallen guards react in awe and confusion in the shadowy foreground. The composition utilizes a dramatic play of light and shadow, with rich earth tones, deep reds, muted greens, and flowing white garments creating a dynamic, theatrical atmosphere.
