About this artwork

A watchful black-and-tan dog stands beneath suspended game birds beside a long hunting rifle. Jean-Baptiste Oudry sets the scene against pale stone, balancing richly detailed feathers and dark fur with muted greens, warm browns, and soft light. This Baroque animal painting brings a composed, traditional character to a study, library, or living space.
