About this artwork

A playful, dreamlike city scene unfolds in loose shapes and layered color. A small boat, a tall blue tree, a lantern-like tower, and a bright umbrella sit against a pale, rippling backdrop. Expressive marks and soft washes of blue, pink, green, and orange give the composition a lively, imaginative mood.
