About this artwork

This dramatic baroque style art print features a classic figural composition with deep chiaroscuro lighting. A central resting woman in a red garment rests her head on her hand near a human skull, while an older woman on the left holds a gleaming golden basin and strings of pearls. An angelic figure with feathered wings and an ornate gold-embroidered garment stands behind her, completing the moody and theatrical scene rendered in rich tones of gold, crimson, and deep shadow.
