About this artwork

An expressive baroque style oil painting depicting a dramatic biblical scene. In the center, a shirtless young man kneels on an altar with bowed head, bound by his hands. Standing to his right, an older bearded man in a brown robe raises a blade upward. Behind the kneeling figure, a winged angel with flowing teal drapery intervenes, reaching out to grasp the older man's wrist. The composition features dynamic lighting, deep shadows, and rich textures, creating a tense narrative atmosphere against a dark, cloudy sky.
