About this artwork

This striking circular artwork features the dramatic, terrified visage of a figure with a tangled mass of numerous dark snakes writhing in place of hair. Bright red blood drips from the ragged severed neck below. Set against a muted green background within an ornate circular frame border, the high-contrast lighting casts deep shadows and highlights the wide, fearful eyes and open mouth in an expression of shock and horror.
